Gilbert Construction Company, a licensed general contractor, has been providing commercial services to the Pee Dee areas for over 35 years. The company has established and continues to produce successful relationships.

Gilbert Construction was founded by R. Austin Gilbert Jr. and his wife Beth in 1975. Jerry Fields came to work for Austin in 1976 and became head of the Gilbert & Fields division of Gilbert Construction, which specialized in metal buildings, in 1977. In 1991, Jerry ventured off on his own to open Fields Construction.
After years of success for both companies, building knowledge and gaining wisdom along the way, Austin and Jerry decided to merge companies in 2012 becoming Gilbert & Fields Construction. For Austin and Jerry the words community, family and business fall into the same sphere.
They are linked by an ambition to succeed, to do so fairly and to give back to a community that has been good to the company. Gilbert Construction has been laying the foundation of the Florence area’s growth throughout the years and has built a very loyal staff and developed strong relationships with local subcontractors and businesses. We look forward to the upcoming years of doing business with our local community and surrounding areas.
